Seminar Held in the Department of Pharmacy

 

A seminar was held in the Department of Pharmacy, University of Asia Pacific (UAP) on 19th February, 2014. The keynote speaker was Dr. Sabiruddin Mirza who is currently working as a Senior Research Associate, in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences of Harvard University. He completed his PhD from the University of Helsinky. He presented a talk on "Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology for Next Generation Pharma Industry".

Dr. Mirza discussed the recent trends in the nanotechnology and how they can be used to improve product quality by the pharmaceutical companies in Bangladesh. Dr. Mirza also explained to the students how to collaborate with foreign institution for research activity and also expressed his interest to work with the Department of Pharmacy, UAP. The talk was followed by an interactive question answer sessions where the speaker answered the queries of students. Vice Chancellor of UAP, Prof Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury was present as chief guest in the seminar and gave an inspirational speech to the students of the department and thanking note to the speaker. Pro Vice Chancellor of UAP, Prof Dr. M.R. Kabir, Registrar Dr. Abdul Mazid and Head of the Department of Pharmacy, Prof Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan were also present in the seminar. Participation of all the faculty members, distinguished guests and senior students of the department made the seminar interactive and successful.
